If God created through evolution,

why did Jesus die?

Irrefutable proof that the theory of evolution and Biblical creation cannot be reconciled

- Tinus de Bruyn

Many Christians believe that evolution is not contrary to the Bible. They are convinced that the two can be blended. The reason for their conviction is that not a year passes without the publication of yet another book, in which it is claimed that the theory of evolution is compatible with the Bible. With small variance, the authors of these books keep regurgitating the same old ideas, focusing on the seven days of creation, the evolutionary interpretation of the fossil record, old-earth hypothesis and other technical aspects. By focusing on these secondary matters, they avoid having to deal with two core theological issues, which arise from blend theories. It is a predicament they would like to forget, for these two issues are nothing less that the central pillars of Christian theology, and of huge important to every Christian. Once the dilemma is exposed, ALL blend theories are doomed to crumble.

The issues at stake are:

1.       The character of God.

2.       The purpose of Jesus’s death on the cross.

The following synopsis will help the reader understand why ALL blend theories create an insurmountable dilemma, by showing how it leads to the inevitable and absurd conclusion that God is evil and Jesus died for nothing:

1.     The theory of evolution depends on the mechanism of the survival of the fittest.

2.     This requires the not-so-fit (billions of them) to suffer and die.

3.     Therefore, God – if He used any form of evolution – used death and suffering to create.

4.     This makes God the author and approver of death and suffering.

5.     Therefore, man cannot be the author of death and suffering.

6.     Man is not in any sense guilty of death and suffering, for:

A.    There is no sin involved in causing death and suffering, as God already approved these means.

B.    By causing more death and suffering, man is emulating God.

C.    Death and suffering are progressive, positive aspects of evolutionary creation.

7.     This means the real sinners are those who work against death and suffering.

8.     Therefore, Jesus’ death on the cross was the ultimate sin.

The implications are obvious: God is malevolent and Jesus sinned. As you can see, the conclusion of blend theory is patently absurd, satanic and blatantly unbiblical. Do not be fooled: These implications are inherent in ALL blend theories, and not a single one is able to resolve it!

If you think you have a way to resolve the dilemma, by all means; write to me! (But do me a favour; and don’t throw book titles at me. I’ve seen enough of those.) Answer my argument, if you think you can, and if you can’t, please stop spreading blend heresies!

Possible objections:

1.     Death and suffering are part of the ecosystem. If the Bible tells us that God created the world without death and suffering, surely the Bible is flawed?

It is true that God created the ecosystem, but the Bible clearly teaches that the original ecosystems of God’s perfect creation were very different to what they are today. Death and suffering only followed after humanity began to sin.

2.     We all know that living organisms change over time. The principle, that the fittest survive, has been proven. How can the Bible teach differently?

The Bible does not teach differently. The fact that living organisms can adapt is proof of their excellent design. But this design does not require – as evolution would – that they suffer and die. In God’s original creation, there was no death and suffering.

3.     Isn’t God amoral – above the issue of morality?

Amorality is a theoretical position which is both logically flawed and contrary to clear scripture. Any choice always has moral consequences. The only way to avoid consequences is by ignorance or denial, and the God of the Bible is certainly above these.

4.     Do we have to understand these things logically?

No, you don’t have to understand anything, logically or otherwise. But then, why make up logical theories (like blend theory), if it cannot be defended logically?

5.     Couldn’t God have used evolution, without using death and suffering?

That would no longer be evolution, but adaptive change, through procreation. It is common knowledge that God’s genetic design allow for a certain degree of adaption. Adaption through procreation is how God planned it in the beginning. In contrast, evolution lacks an intellectual mechanism, and therefore relies on death and suffering.

Thank God his methods are better than ours!
